Ecuador Day 7

Some days are just hard. You find there just isn't enough strength in your mind or body to function, to be present, to do what you are meant to do. The emotions rage. Your heart breaks. You feel like falling to your knees in despair. And sometimes that's just what you need to do. Fall to your knees. But sometimes, that's not the point. Sometimes the point is to prove that God's strength is infinitely more powerful than I can ever be. Sometimes the point is to fall into Him and let Him keep you on your feet. And He does. Somehow. One foot follows the other and though it may be a staggering gait, you find yourself moving forward in your day. Not running. Not skipping. Just putting one exhausted foot in front of the other. You make it to the end of the day and find you have successfully completed the task set before you despite your weariness, despite the barriers. You made it. That's God, folks. He doesn't promise and easy life. He doesn't promise you will enjoy every step of the journey. He just promises never to leave you or forsake you. That's what this is all about. The days where nothing makes sense but you have a truth more amazing than anything else ever dreamed of being. You cling to that truth and rest in it even as the storms of life rage around you. It's hard. It's painful. But it's reality. And it's beautiful in it's own way. Not in the moment necessarily, but knowing that God is piecing together the things in my life that will lead to whatever next step takes place in my life is comforting. And He knew I needed to be surrounded by these specific people right now. It's hard to be away from family. It's hard to be away from the friends I am used to seeking out for comfort. But God hand picked an awesome group of people to support me during this time. Praise God for His awesomeness.
Here I am in St. Petersburg... sort of...
